PCT SeasonMax

Are you Locking up $50?

Unlock your phosphorus with PCT SeasonMax & save $50+/acre.

Up to 90 percent of unprotected phosphorus fertilizer applied today will not feed your crops until years later. Plant-available soil phosphorus has a negative charge and can often be tied up by calcium, magnesium and other positively-charged ions. These insoluble compounds fall out of the soil solution and are unavailable for plant uptake. They slowly dissolve and re-enter the soil solution only after several years.

Treatment of phosphorus fertilizer with PCT SeasonMax can increase its immediate availability to plants, intercepting and binding positively-charged ions before they form insoluble compounds with phosphorus.

Phosphorus fertilizer that does not feed your current crop is an interest-free loan. If 90 percent of phosphorus fertilizer is unavailable this year, the farmer who applies $70 of unprotected phosphorus makes a $63 interest-free loan to the soil on every acre!

The active ingredient in PCT SeasonMax has been extensively researched in dozens of university trials. In these studies, corn yielded 8 to 14 bushels more per acre when treated with the active ingredient. In local trials, yields have increase 5 to 10 bushels per acre with PCT SeasonMax.

The active molecule in PCT SeasonMax is 10 times larger than that in competing products. This greater size protects PCT SeasonMax against rapid soil breakdown and increases the amount of phosphorus it protects. Both advantages support improved consistency of PCT SeasonMax versus competitors.

Application Rates

PCT SeasonMax can be used to treat either liquid or dry Phosphorus fertilizer.

Liquid Fertilizer: Add PCT SeasonMax at a rate of 1 percent (1 gallon per 100 gallons fertilizer). PCT SeasonMax should be tank-mixed and applied either in-furrow or in a 2” x 2” application.

Dry Fertilizer: Add PCT SeasonMax at a rate of 3 to 4 quarts per ton.

Phosphorus & Plant Health

Phosphorus plays an essential role in the following plant processes:
  • Plant Reproduction
  • Energy Transfer
  • Cell Membrane Integrity
  • Early Growth
  • Plant Water Uptake
  • Disease Resistance
  • Seed Production & Maturity
Plants remove large amounts of phosphorus from the soil; a 200 bushel corn crop will remove 80 pounds per acre, and an 80 bushel soybean crop will remove 64 pounds per acre.

Protection of Other Nutrients

Positively charged ions that bind with phosphorus also become unavailable to the plant when those compounds fall out of the soil solution. Many positively charged ions are essential plant nutrients:
  • Calcium
  • Magnesium
  • Potassium
  • Manganese
  • Iron
  • Zinc
  • Copper
PCT SeasonMax increases the availability of these macro and micronutrients and protects phosphorus fertilizer.
